I’ve been thinking a lot about the pace of children’s stories — and how often quiet moments get lost in the rush to entertain, reward, or keep attention.
A Little Big World began as a response to that. Not as a product to launch quickly, but as a story world built slowly, with care, and with space for children to pause, notice, and feel their way through a story.
This journal entry sits alongside a short video I recently made, where I talk more openly about why this project exists and the values guiding it as it grows.
Right now, A Little Big World is intentionally small.
There are three finished stories in the app, each written and illustrated with a focus on calm pacing, simple language, and emotional clarity. Rather than rushing to expand, the goal has been to make sure each story feels complete, thoughtful, and safe in its own right.
The app itself is currently in review on both the App Store and Google Play. This early stage has been a chance to slow down, reflect, and make sure the foundation feels right before moving forward.
A Little Big World isn’t being built around trends, algorithms, or fast updates.
It’s being shaped with the idea that children benefit from stories that don’t hurry them along — stories that allow space for hesitation, curiosity, and gentle moments of reflection. That approach influences everything from the writing, to the illustrations, to how the app itself will grow over time.
Taking this slower path means resisting the urge to overpromise or overfill. Instead, the focus stays on quality, trust, and creating something that feels steady and intentional.
This journal will be a place to quietly document the journey as A Little Big World continues to take shape — from new stories and characters, to reflections on storytelling, illustration, and building something meant to last.
